Here are some of the questions I get asked most often. Please check if this helps you first, and then feel free to email me if you have any further inquiries!
1. Do you do happy endings/groin massage/'any other way you would like to word this but really mean some sort of sexual favor'? NO. NIET. ABSOLUTELY NOT. THATS ILLEGAL. GO HOME TO YOUR WIFE.
2. You're so tiny, Do you give good pressure?!? Yes, I give excellent pressure and if you feel that I didn't please let me know so we can adjust your treatment or I can refer you out. Size has nothing to do with pressure, it is about technique.
3. Which kind of massage do I need? I created a short but handy list under the services tab at the top of your screen. But no worries! If you still can't decide, book any massage and we can always change it the day of your appointment.
4. Should I get completely NAKED? Yes! It's much easier for us therapists to reach everything without having to work around your private undergarments. You will be properly draped (covered by a sheet) the entire time and nothing private will be exposed. However, If you feel uncomfortable then always go within your comfort zone in this matter.
5. Is draping/covering necessary? Yes. It is illegal in the state of Florida to do a massage without proper draping.
6. Will you crack my back for me? No, unfortunately that is not within my scope of practice. If your back cracks while I am performing the massage then that is fine, but I cannot/will not do it on purpose. I can refer you to an awesome chiropractor though!
7. There is this weird feeling that I get when I do this movement…Is it broken/strained/sprained? Unfortunately, with my degree I am not allowed to diagnose or prescribe so I will not be able to answer these types of questions. However, I have enough experience that I can most likely refer you to the appropriate channel or offer advice on how not to further the injury.
8. Why do you charge more to do deep tissue/trigger point/etc? The reason the industry standard is to charge more for these modalities is….drumroll…… because they are more work. It is more strain on the therapists body and doing multiple types of these modalities a day can be extremely tiring. Also, in order to do any specialty massages such as cupping or barefoot massage, one must get certified which costs the therapist money and therefore they are able to charge more for getting continuing education, tools, and skills in order to provide that service to the client.
9. I only have this one area that needs deep tissue/work done, does that count as a deep tissue? Yes. One or more areas of deep tissue or muscular work counts as a deep tissue because that area could take up more than half the massage. A relaxation massage is just for the purpose of relaxing, it is not in any way corrective therapy.
10. Will I feel immediately better and be free of all ailments after one treatment? This is a tough one. Sometimes yes! Sometimes no! Can you go to the doctor, take one pill or do one exercise and be immediately healed? Probably not. Massage is a maintenance program that can help you if you continue to use it on a monthly basis. Most adhesions (knots) can be worked out in one session but that does not mean that you will feel the effects immediately. It can take 24-48 hours and/or multiple treatments.
11. I'm bruised and sore and feel worse after my massage! What did you do to me!?? It is normal to feel sore for 1-3 days after a deep tissue massage. I do what the client wants. If you tell me this area is tight and needs work then that is what I will do. Deep tissue massage is not for everyone. Please make sure you know/ask the effects before you ask me for something you maybe don't want.
12. I didn't shave/have psoriasis/eczema/other self conscious body issues, should I still book a massage? All therapists should be completely aware of any pertinent or contraindicated skin conditions for massage. If yours isn't on the list, don't be shy! We are trained professionals and honestly I don't pay much attention to your body type/issues, I'm too focused on helping you feel better.
13. Do I need to/have to/how much should I tip? Yes, you should leave gratuity for your therapist always, unless they sucked. If you liked your service, this is your way of showing your therapist. All service industries in the USA are tipping professions and most of us account for the gratuity as part of our income. If you don't know what is an appropriate tip, usually it is 15-20% of the ORIGINAL cost of the service. If the service is on sale for $50 but the original cost is $65, tipping etiquette is to base your gratuity off of the original price. The therapist will not 'discount' the great service they give you so you shouldn't either. :)
14. What if I don't like the pressure/don't feel comfortable/don't like the music/etc.? Always let your therapist know. It is my job to cater your service to what you want! So don't hesitate to let me know if there is something that could be improved upon. I will NOT BE OFFENDED. Again, it is my job and as much as I've tried in the past, I cannot read minds (darn it!). Speak up!
15. Do you offer any discounts?
I am always running specials so check on my instagram or facebook regularly for those. I also offer 10% Teacher, Student, and Military discount with proper ID.
16. Wait I have more questions! Don't worry…I am here to answer all of your tiniest questions. Just ask!
